A lot of folks can feel like rockstars in their small business or at the office, but at the same time feel like failures at home. One solution to consider is striving for work-life integration instead of work-life balance.
But what is work-life integration? How is it different from work-life balance?
To help us solve this work-life puzzle, I invited Mark Timm on the show.
Mark has been a serial entrepreneur and exponential-thinking practitioner for two decades. Today, Mark believes his most important role is as CEO of the most valuable business in the world: his family of six young adults with his wife, Ann.
If you're interested in improving your relationship with your family, listen to this podcast episode and see if adopting a work-life integration approach could help you.
What are we covering?
Mark and I review the following:

Interview Takeaways
1. Find Ways to Embrace Work-Life Integration
I see this as a personal challenge to look at my life right now and find ways to include my kids.
For example, if I want to exercise but I can’t find time because I’m watching with my kids … I need to shift my mindset to “HOW can I exercise with the kids?”
During virtual school lately, I've used our collective lunch breaks to be a time for bike rides around the neighborhood. Am I getting in my typical morning run by myself? No. But I'm exercising and integrating it with quality time with my kids.
What ways can you integrate instead of separate?
2. Create a Family Mission Statement
Just like anything in life, it’s important to define the purpose, the meaning or the “why”. According to Mark, your family is no different.
Define who you want your family to be, what you stand for, and even what you stand against.
3. Lead by Example
If you want your children to be more collaborative, helpful, kind and caring, then show them the way.
Be the parent that leads by example so they know how to be a person of integrity, how to treat their spouse with respect, and how to put family first.
